How to Become a Journey Scientist

If you have any interest in becoming a Journey Scientist, please contact Catherine Ishida by phone at 934-5086 or by email, preferably by December 7, 2005.

All you need is expertise in some scientific discipline, an enthousiasm for reaching out to students and their families, and a willingness to commit to:

  • Participate in the orientation.
  • Spend one day in the classrooms during Journey Week.
  • Make yourself available as a resource to the classroooms throughout the year.

To recognize your participation and to allow teachers to learn about you, the Journey Team will post your photograph, a brief biography, and a statement of interest on a web page. To become a Journey Scientists, please provide these materials to the Journey Team. You may refer to the biographies of last years visiting researchers as examples of the type of information the Journey Team would like to publish.
